New Artist!
NANO LOPEZ
Look closely at Nano's sculpture and you will discover the bright colors of a Colombian marketplace, animals precariously laden with pots, fruits, vegetables, birds, bees, geckos, Pre-Columbian and contemporary artifacts. Nano Lopez is an artist gifted with the rare ability to see the world as a child sees it, with exploration, wonder, and creativity.
His sculptures describe a world beyond the borders of ordinary maps where an unfettered imagination allows nature, science, folklore and modern industrialism to exist seamlessly together. His work invites us to look at the world more carefully and discover for ourselves the rich interconnections of life. It reminds us that the miracle of life exists at all levels, from the patterns on a leaf to the profound mysteries of the universe.

FQGA 20th Anniversary Event
Friday, October 3rd
5:00-8:00
Martin Gallery will be featuring a new body of mixed media paintings by artist Joanne Williams. In a layered abstract study of color, figures gaze at sights unknown, landscapes dissolve into the abstraction of shapes over imperceptible boundaries, and color animates scenes composed of the mystical and the natural. Guests are invited to meet Joanne, enjoy refreshments, and view other eclectic work by over 35 nationally and internationally renowned artists who work in a variety of different mediums. This evening will be paired with live music by local acoustic trio, Caravan. Consisting of two guitars and upright bass, their focus is on French gypsy swing, a la Django Reinhardt, but flamenco and bossa influences are also represented.
